Why it matters

Clinical context

Alpha-1-microglobulin is a small protein made mainly in the liver that helps protect tissues from oxidative damage. Healthy kidneys reabsorb it, so higher amounts in urine can signal kidney tubular dysfunction. That makes A1M both a useful reagent today and a candidate marker for a future OncoFirm urine test.

How it supports the platform

A foundation for quantitative assays

Reagent today

Characterized A1M serves as calibrator, control and coating antigen in in-vitro diagnostic development.

Kidney marker tomorrow

A quantitative urine A1M assay on the OncoFirm reader is a pipeline candidate.
